Paul Hilton follows Raja Ampat Rangers

I have just returned from a trip with Shawn Heinrichs and his colleagues from Shark Savers to one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, the Islands of Raja Ampat. The Island chain is situated in the northwest Papua in the coral triangle, a bio- diversity hot spot in Indonesia. The Misool Conservation Center has established a highly effective patrol operation (supported by WildAid) within its leased No-Take-Zone of 168 square miles. Unfortunately for the rest of Raja Ampat, it is a sanctuary for sharks and rays, but without any real protection and with the newly expanded area of around 450 square miles, they really need help.
